Bike Dog Carrier

Any recommendations on a carrier for your dog?  I'm thinking of buying one for my dog's adoption day present.  I want to go on longer rides and bring him along.  Also, I'd love to photograph anyone that bikes with their dog!

this way you can cycle... or um recycle your pet!!!

My dog is about 50 lbs, and he would definitely jump out of that crate.

Some folks use kid trailers for their dogs. When there are open trailers, I think that folks leash their dogs to the trailer in a way that the dog isn't able to jump out.

Mine yowls and cries when the barometric pressure is off tenth of a degree from the optimal.  She goes into a conniption if I try and bring her outside, much less close to a vehicle!

Check out a Croozer trailer. When I was in Toronto I saw tons of people using them to get their pooches around. They hold up to 100lb, I think.

Another option, if you have a well behaved dog, is to get a cheap, used burley/bell trailer (Salvation Army always has them in the warm months) and cut the nylon to remove the top. Some have easily removable bench seats, others you may have to tear old the seats.

I posted this last year. I wouldn't say this is appropriate for fast, long rides...but around the neighborhood and for trips to the beach. Ideal.  It's a bike trailer purchased at Play It Again Sports for about ninety or a hundred bones.

Hi Martha. My name is Alberto and I have a 35lb beagle mix. I bought a carrier for kids but I put my dog in it. Walmart has some decent styles if you don't object to buying from Walmart...lol. Good luck on your search and let me know which one you chose. Take care and safe riding!!

a lot depends on the size of the dog, here is something you can carry by bike, car or more  PodiLove

in case your dog is larger then I would go Comfort Wagon

the wagon is made to guarantee comfort to the dog even on rough road condition typical in cities like ours, the trailer allows you to take the dog safely over to places like Montrose and have fun there. 

in case you like to ride and have the dog run besides you than the Walky Dog

these are just some of the options I design and manufacture, if you like to have some more details let me know.

The Walky Dog is great!  My dog is 45 lbs and she runs the .5 mile to day camp on that all the time.  Longest I've taken her is 1.5 miles each way to the vet.  That tired her out, but she could definitely get used to it if I took her on more long rides.  I don't know if I would really want her getting used to that much running around though...

The Walky Dog looks very cool. I was wondering if anyone has used a  "Springer" http://www.springeramerica.com/ as it is similar, but a bit different from the Walky Dog. It also costs quite a bit more.  We are also planning on training our dog to travel in the child bike trailer we have, as the pet specific trailers are, in my opinion, way too expensive (esp. if you have a large or even medium-large dog) and I believe a child trailer can be modified to do the same job.
