To anyone reading this: This is me jump starting my bicycling recovery!
A brief history and explanation: Last Fall I invested in a high end (for me, that is) road bike, my goal being to eventually begin some long distance riding - something I've been interested in since high school. Cut to December - when I tore two ligiments in my knee in a sledding accident which put me out of commision until now. I have just begun riding my bike again after a long, idle (not counting the excrutiating recovery and therapy from surgery) Winter and Spring. Now, Winter would not have been idle for me ordinarily. I ride my bike all year, it is my main source of transportation, and I would have also been using spin bikes at my local Y to try to keep somewhat in shape.
So here I am: pudgy and out of shape and feeling great about riding three miles on my sore, recovering knee! I am hoping to connect with any of you folks out there, and do some riding - just some short distances, mind you, for a little while, but with the goal of doing a century by sometime this summer.
I'm looking forward to meeting some new biking friends!
Liz
