The DeLanghe Lion Ranking is a listing of the cumulative rider performance in the annual Roger DeLanghe Trophy race at the Northbrook Park District Ed Rudolph Velodrome.

The race is sponsored by the 2CC / The Pony Shop and has offered at least a $1500.00 purse every year. Over the 1997 to 2010 race history, any rider that finishes in the top 25 earns points for the rankings. It’s a kind of ironman/ironwoman race listing over the entire race history. Any rider who ever finishes in the top 25 gets at least a point and makes it into the list. Currently 134 different riders share this honor. Alas, more riders have started the race but have not made the list by never finishing in the top 25.
There is much movement in the ranks based on the results of this year’s 2010 race.
With a win this year, Chris Mosora moves up over 35 places and shares 30th place with Northbrook Garner Bicycle Club rider Mark Harris. First time race competitor, and our special former Olympian and pro rider Colby Pearce breaks into the rankings into 100th place with a 2nd place finish. Colby shares the 100th spot with Alberto’s rider Mark Zionts and Andrew Carter. Northbrook resident, businessman and current Cycle Committee sponsorship director Aram Bayzaee continues his steady climb up the rankings and now shares the 6th place spot with former winner and PACT rider Adam Lesniakowski.
Another woman has joined the ranks this year with Val Brostrom’s top 25 finish. She joins Amy Tremeling as the 2nd woman to make the list. Amy Tremeling passed away in 2007 and the Ed Rudolph Velodrome held a race in her honor this year. Former Pro and cycling commentator Robbie Ventura's standings continues to drop down the list as riders move above him. Prolific former USPS rider Kenny Labbe still holds the top spot with 153 points as the true DeLanghe Lion. He joined the festivities this year and took part in this year’s race announcing joining announcer Jason Klein.
The Northbrook Cycle Committee, a Northbrook Park District affiliate, organizes Thursday night racing, Monday and Tuesday night training programs, the Illinois state track championships and various clinics throughout the year at the Northbrook Park District's Ed Rudolph Velodrome.
