Lion Television, over in Merry Olde, has launched a new series hearkening back to the Golden Age of British Bicycle Touring:
Clare Balding sets out on a two-wheel odyssey to re-discover Britain – from the saddle of a touring cycle.

Clare follows the wheeltracks of compulsive cyclist and author Harold Briercliffe whose evocative guide books of the late 1940s lovingly describe by-passed Britain - a world of unspoiled villages, Cycle Touring clubs and sunny B-Roads…

Carrying a set of Harold’s Cycling Touring Guides for company – and riding his very own bicycle – Clare embarks on six iconic cycle rides to try and find the world he described. If it’s still there.

The series is now being shown again on BBC2 on Fridays, episode#1 was last week - and we now subscribe to MyExpatNet, as recommended by SlyRed ...

I just watched Britain by Bike: The Cotswolds on BBC iPlayer. You need a UK IP Proxy. I use MyExpatNet. Costs 5 quid a month, but worth every pence if you love BBC programming. If you're interested in the technical details for viewing BBC iPlayer get in touch with me.

Any way to view this online? Otherwise it's just a neat program that only plays in a foreign country.
