About me:
Bicycling has been in my blood since I was a child. Not only is it the most efficient means of human transportation, but it is the most ideal means of exercise, serving the purpose of transportation at the same time. Seeing healthy octogenarians cycling is proof that bicycling is the fountain of youth.

In April of 2012, I became certified as a CyclingSavvy Instructor. CyclingSavvy is a focused program for teaching adults how to safely, comfortably and confidently cycle in traffic with all types of road users. Bike lanes are OK, but you can't let paint think for you. You can let yourself be led into too many traffic conflicts if you don't ride as an equal road user. Bike lanes create a form of segregation that is dangerous at intersections.

CyclingSavvy does a great job of teaching concepts that are counter-intuitive to the way most people have been "taught" how to ride a bike. I hope to be able to work either with or independently of other bicycle friendly groups in the Chicago area to bring CyclingSavvy to Chicago and its cycling population.
