What brings you to The Chainlink?

Disillusioned with that other website, Bike Forums. Was way to complicated for me.

About me:

Just turned 66 years young. I started riding about two years ago, after loosing my car and everything else i owned, out of necessity. It had been a long time since I rode a bike and as the saying goes, "once you learn how to ride a bike you never forget". Well, I found out quickly that my balance wasn't as good as it once was, and proceeded to take a couple of nasty falls. But that didn't stop me from continuing. Undaunted every time I fell, I'd get right back in the saddle and shove off. This time period I started with a used Schwinn ranger that was sometimes finicky in the shifting. Next i picked up an old eddy bauerthat was chained to a neighbor's fence and rode that until the rear derallier somehow got caught in the spokes of my rear rim. then i purchased a Schwinn Cliente and fell in love with it, [I still have it, by the way] Another long story short, i started becoming bossed with buying bikes off of Craig's list. i couldn't believe the deals I came up on! Anyway, that being said, i now have over 20 bicycles in my stables, ranging form treks, gary fishers, [the pedigree Gary fishers, specialized, etc. But my true love are the vintage road bikes of the 60's to early eighties. i have a number of schwinns, a motobecane, a Maruishi, univega, among a few others. i knew i was hooked the day i purchased the Motobecane and rode it to the bus stop to take it home. I, at once , marveled at the balance and drive this little beast had, and it was 30+ years old! I just purchased an Italian, [anyway, I think it's Italian], road bike that has proven to be an enigma in it's identification. Perhaps you folks could help me out.
