About me:
I grew up in Florida, and have always been passionate about not having Florida spoiled by any type of offshore oil drilling.

I started bike riding when I was 6 years old after I watched "The Sound of Music" at a drive-in theatre back in November 1969 and saw the scene during the song "Do-Re-Mi" where Maria (Julie Andrews) takes the Von Trapp kids bike riding through the German countryside. I thought if they could do it, I could to and got over my hang-ups about not doing so.

Since then I have moved to Atlanta, and had to give it up for a while since the summer of 1997, but recently refound my passion for bike riding since March 2011 -- not that I ever lost it mind you.

I'd be very interested in participating in at least one World Naked Bike Ride and find the idea of bike riding naked in Chicago very intriguing, especially to say that you rode a bike naked on the Magnificent Mile! Atlanta will probably not have a World Naked Bike Ride until sometime in the next decade at the earliest. I detail the reasons for this in my blog listed below in a three part post I posted two weeks ago (which includes information about my March 1985 bike accident, in Tampa, FL, curtesy of a hit and run driver, and the fact that Atlanta is nowhere near being as progressive a city as Chicago seems to be -- much of the rest of the U.S. isn't either).

I'd love to know if there are any word through this website that I was directed to from the Madison World Naked Bike Ride yahoo group, whether anyone is hearing of any group of like-minded Atlanta bike riders who plan to go up to Chicago. I'd most like to do this via Amtrak if possible to save on gas and oil and I know it can be done by going from Atlanta south to New Orleans up to Saint Louis and then over to Chicago for the June 11th Chicago World Naked Bike Ride.
