I am still sorting out google drive, so for now, this is how I can communicate. I believe you are in Oak Park, there is a guy name Don that is an electric bike fan in Oak Park, around Ridgeland and Division, he has I believe several ebikes, including one shape like a cupcake. He can be reached at endless sphere under user name "drutledge".

   You want to build an electric bike, there are several things you must decide be for starting. Motor....is it going to be a hub motor or an external motor. Battery... there is quite a few choices ranging from SLA(seal lead acid) to Lithium Ion of which there are quite a few types, with the more popular being Life and Lipo, both have their plus and minus. Do you want a front wheel drive or rear wheel, again both have their pros and cons.

  My 1st ebike conversion, about 5 years ago, was a front wheel drive call Hill topper by clean republic, it was a very easy conversion almost did it in 5 minutes as advertise, except I had to open up the front dropout to fit the thicker axle. started out with SLA power, then to LIFE and finally to LIPO. I still use often to this date. I'll let you think about choices for now. I am going to try and give you a link on a fast conversion to ebike video.

thanks

Hi John;

   I understand you want to electrify your Bianchi Forte. Are you very familar with the subject, I believe your website does things with electricity. Just trying to find out how much background you have on electric bikes. I don't think chainlink is that friendly with that subject. I am also into electric bikes, I ride them usually in the warmer months. If you are looking to gain some knowledge in electric bikes, I recommend Endless Sphere website, if you hadn't already been there. It is very informative and others will help you if you have a problem.

   My name is Jerry Lee, I am a heavy set person reaching the retirement age and love to bike ride. I can't keep up with others, but I am still biking part way to work, Andersonville to Franklin Park everyday, all the way in the warmer months. I am into all kinds of bikes, electric bike, mountain bike, recumbents, and cruiser.  the next bike I am considering is a cyclocross/road  frame with electric assist using 24volts only and not my normal 48-72 volts, to get endurance out of the batteries. Sorry I am just ranting on and on, but this happens to be a favorite subject for me. Talk to you later.
