I'm on vacation this week and next, so I see no reason why we can't get together. Cindy and I will probably be heading to Oak Park tomorrow afternoon for a b'day party for a youngster I know who just turned 50. But other than that and a possible two night camping trip next week, we are open.
I was surprised that Laura works a Chase in Elgin, so does Courtney. I think she is in Auditing. Her last name is Schroeder now.
I work in Elgin, now, myself. Binks went belly up in 1997 and I fell into a job at a railroad equipment supplier a week later and been there ever since. Started out in the Service Dept. spinning wrenches and now I run that dept. When I started there, I was told 'some travel' was involved. Didn't know 'some travel' meant working in S. Africa, Australia, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and the entire continental US. I have a large territory.
Well, Cindy and I are Empty Nesters. We also have the Worlds Cutest Granddaughter but we only see her a couple times a year because she lives in Maine with her parents, Shannon and BJ.
Courtney is married now, too, and lives in West Chicago. She just earned her MBA. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. She is also a CPA. And she still rides with me on occasion.
Still riding but not doing distance stuff anymore. Mostly commuting to work when I'm not jetting off to some other part of the country. Mostly old British Iron now but I still have the Miyata 600 GT I got from you. Still looks pretty good. I do a lot of stuff with IG hubs now, too.
Got hit by a car in S. Barrington about five years ago, which put an end to an unpromising track racing career. No broken bones but lots of tissue damage and one totaled French touring bike.
Cindy and I are thinking of retiring and settling in a mobile home on some acreage in Maine. We think about it anyway.
Reeses' is still open, but Benedict's in E. Dundee has bike parking. Tastes better, too.
