8-speed, anyone?

Hello.  Looking for Shimano Dura Ace 8-speed downtube shift levers.  They would be from around 1992.  Grey-colored.  The left lever is spring-assisted and is offset from the downtube to facilitate…Continue

ratcheting shoe buckle compatibility?

Hello.  I've got a pair of Bontrager shoes (circa 2013) that are in great shape except the ratcheting buckle broke on one of the shoes.  I've looked online for replacements.  Trek doesn't have…Continue

"Do you have forks? I'm more a vintage-ish bike guy than an MTB nut, but my thought would be go high-end period-correct. Chris King for headsets, XTR for the rest. "

mtb dream build

Hello.  I've got a couple of mtb frames that need to be built up.  I've been out of cycling for a while and am recently getting back into it and find myself in unfamiliar territory.  Things that were not available when I hit "pause" that are a 'thing' now include: gravel bikes, adventure bikes, hydraulic brakes, anything more than 8-speeds in back, 1X MTB, 2X MTB, 29-er, thru-axles, all these new BB standards, all these new headset standards, electronic shifting, no name a few.  Anyway, I'm…See More

"Sorry to tease. In my experience, it's difficult to find those levers with hoods in decent shape, and to the best of my knowledge there are no reproduction hoods available. Shimano has always had a tendency to make subtle, incompatible, changes…"

"Ooooh you can't tease me like that! Just say you don't have aero levers and leave it at that.   Thank you for the bikeforums suggestion though.  I guess that makes up for it.  "

"I have a set of aero levers, but they are part of a DA 7400 group destined for a build. Can't help with 8-speed shifters. If you don't get any hits here, you might check with the C&V forum over on bikeforums.net. There is an active…"

Hello.  Looking for Shimano Dura Ace 8-speed downtube shift levers.  They would be from around 1992.  Grey-colored.  The left lever is spring-assisted and is offset from the downtube to facilitate one-handed shifting.  I know someone's gotta have a pair lurking in their archives somewhere.  Any old-time mechanics out there?  I know you guys are scavengers (I know, I used to be one). Also, Dura Ace non-STI aero brake levers.  They were made for a year or two max.  Anyone?  Anyone?  See More

Hello.  I've got a pair of Bontrager shoes (circa 2013) that are in great shape except the ratcheting buckle broke on one of the shoes.  I've looked online for replacements.  Trek doesn't have them. Does anyone know if I can use another brand of buckle receiver, like Sidi, Specialized, Giro, Shimano instead of the unavailable Trek ones? Thanks, all!See More
