The towns we visit have to apply to be our hosts, whether as pass-through towns, meeting towns (larger towns usually mid-route designed to be lunch stopovers) or overnight towns. They build entire brands and themes around their hosting activities. Here's the mayor of Mt. Ayr sporting the town's t-shirt: "The Peak of the Prairie!"
