The Chainlink

This bike has gone through the woodchipper and came out the other end. It was my first road bike and holds a lot of sentimental value. I lost her to thieves who stripped it of it's beautiful handcrafted hardware, stronglight crank set and my nice Mavic wheelset. I found what was left on craigslist 7 months later and got it back from a guy who bought it like that at a bike swap in Morton Grove. Who knows what it went through. My friend happened to have the same crank set in a bin of parts and gave it to me. I'm slowly rebuilding it to where it was at. I have a set of Superbee hubs that I will build a nice new wheelset with for it. The fork pulls the bike to the left from a collision I had which is really a pain but the geometry on this bike makes it a great ride, and it is a rare model to have 531 Reynolds tubing. Don't give up your search, those bikes are still out there somewhere. I never liked the original simplex system anyway.

If anyone knows the model I'd like to know, I've never figured it out, The decals look 70's but has it has an english threaded bottom bracket.
