It was in the 70's even the evenings were nice. Crazy nice weather.

Pretty chilly though huh?  I used to live in Michigan, although I was still in the lower part of it.  Went to Mackinac before, was a great experience!  My favorite part is the restriction of motor vehicles on the island, and the option to rent bicycles to traverse the awesome hills through the neighborhood on the isle.
