The Chainlink

Just spent around 10 hrs taking this baby apart, cleaning the crap out of everything, re-greasing and putting back together. This is one f-ing sexy bike! The picture does no justice. Next time the sun comes out I am going to get some better photos. Ended up keeping the chain guard off because it just looks too bad ass without it. I still need to add a rear Wald rack with a light brown wooden crate on top. This came with a vintage "Schwinn Approved" child seat that looks like it was made in the middle ages. Unfortunately it is a bit bent up so it will be a while before I am able to fix it. Oh, and I stole the front rack off my '64 Racer.

I rode this around for about 12 miles yesterday and discovered the front wheel was making the bike a bit bouncy in the front end. Trued it up and fixed the round as much as I could and now the bike rides smooth as silk. Shifts smooth and the drivetrain feels brand new as well.

Now all I need to do is quiet up the rear fender (makes a little noise on the bumps), add a rear rack with a good quality wooden crate, swap out the kickstand with the one on my "64 which is near mint and swap out the shifter mech with the one on my '64 (the one on the '68 has no logo plate). So happy with how this bike is turning out especially since it is my first real project bike that I've put work into :)
