As a new group member, I look forward to meeting my fellow brommies. See you there. -Steve GP (thanks Marcus)

Bromptons, trains and boats!
We'll meet at the corner of Madison and Clinton at noon (Ogivly Station). Ride NW to The Map Room for lunch, then take the blue/red line to Chinatown (making a quick stop at Ping Tom Park) and finally catch the water taxi back Ogilvy/Union.
This figures to be a great way to show how the Bromptons can work so well with virtually all other transportation modes. With luck, maybe we can get some press!
Hip hip hooray and thanks to Marcus for a great ride yesterday. It was a treat and the first of many.
Bill
Thanks to all who made the ride yesterday so enjoyable. As usual, I got such a giddy, circussy feeling when we gathered our Bromptons together, and yesterday was the tops.
On the train home, Beth and I both commented — how everyone was so welcoming, easy and fun.
So happy to know that the Brompton group associated with Rapid Transit and our group will quickly become one-ish (thanks Justyna!)
Great to see and meet you all! Cheers!
Note: As I mentioned to some yesterday, I'll plan another ride (stay tuned) that let's the true nature of our lovely Bromptons shine... A mutimodal day, where we can all enjoy a ride, catch a train, and finally a boat!

Save the date: Jun 6th.
Hopefully we can all (or most) meet up along the route. Should be fun, casual and easy.
Thanks Ken! Sound words of wisdom... tighten your core, bend your knees.
Just wanted to share a warning with my fellow Brompton riders... be careful with your body when you unfold the bike, during that last step when you jerk the bike up. Be very mindful of not being bent over from the waist, tighten your core, and bend at your knees.
When I did this a few weeks ago, I herniated my L4/L5. Now, I had already had some modest back pain the week before. Obviously, something else was going on; the unfolding of the bike was just the last straw. I unfolded my bike 500 times before that, without incident.
Still, in retrospect, I was never in a very well supported position as I did this. Especially for those of you who, like me, are into middle age, be cautious and be nice to your backs!
Ken
I've run into no less than three other Brompton riders this month and given them all a verbal invitation to join this group. So far, none of them have joined. But today, someone I have NOT met, has joined! Great to have you Melissa!
Just a thought, to those of you planning to attend tomorrow's Wilmette green event, consider bringing your B accessories — the ones that help make your Brompton a valuable part of your life.
