I think first it needs to be clear who "we" are-- old familiar problem, huh?

But short of that I'm wondering if anyone (guess that would have to mean John) has a prepared survey for candidates. Specifically I'd like to send it to the Aldermanic candidates for the 25th, 12th, and 22nd wards and then publish the results on the Pilsen/Little Village Bicycle Alliance website (but of course it would be very useful beyond that). If there isn't a template of sorts available, is there anyone who would like to partner on creating one?

Oh, sorry--  re: 'open-ended'-- the questionnaire format is kind of a staple and there are many organizations that send them-- it's kind of important to be specific partly because politicians can be crafty at using broad questions to get unrelated talking points out their while completely sidestepping the question-- and also this allows you to present  the results in a "grid" format and to summarize more easily if necessary.  It's also more likely to result in a response (I've been on the receiving end of these questionnaires as a past candidate and they tend to be prime candidates for the procrastination pile if they seem too daunting.)

(maybe next year it may be prudent to work within the ivi-ipo to get some transportation-related question included?)

Howard - Thanks for providing that link.  The only transportation related question was about priorities in expansion to the CTA train system.

 

I'll spend some time today and see what I can come up with.

yeah...who 'we' are is complicated and it only gets worse when i try to define or pinpoint anything.  i guess with the PAC, it would offer a clear identity.
