So far, I've seen nothing on Rahm Emanuel's web site or in any media statement about sustainable transportation of any kind.  I think we need to give him a big nudge on this.  Here's the link to submit ideas on his web site.

Hi Anne- I wrote to his site and made a few transit and bike suggestions last month. I got a robot reply. I agreee we need to flood his page with bike walk transit concerns and maybe he will get excited about our ideas- ok maybe he will just see if it fits into what he thinks he needs to get elected.
Yes, we do need to flood Rahm with submissions.  I think he's unlikely to make this a significant issue in his campaign unless he does hear from us and other like-minded folks.

I don't know how many of you were at last night's mayoral candidate forum at the Marriott, but it was a huge turnout (well over 600 people).  Seventeen different environmental, advocacy and neighborhood organizations (including the Active Transportation Alliance) put this together and presented questions to the candidates.

The candidates were invited to this event weeks ago, but Rahm Emanuel did not even respond to the invitation until the last minute, then said he was too busy to attend.  You would think that Emanuel would want to take the time to come to a 2-hour event and address such a broad coalition of organizations.

Braun, del Valle and Chico were there.

too busy to talk to his potential constituents?  hmm
