Two resources you may be interested in if you're on the job-hunt and/or just looking to network [disclaimer: they're both a part of my business, Mac 'n Cheese Productions] --

1) Smatterings: my two-times a month free e-newsletter, that runs the gamut - grants, job openings, networking events, activities to do, referrals, housing options, etc.

2) Minglers: events thrown out of my Roscoe Village home as a way for people to expand their networks - professional, social, romantic - via a unique, fun and affordable way. The one Mingler rule is that everyone comes solo!

To sign up for Smatterings or the Minglers, visit my website.

Oh... maybe this would be a good place to post this, since I found my current job via this site!

Anyone here with audit experience or know anyone else - even if not currently in the market, this is something that may be a step up.

A governmental agency is working on opening an new Chicago office and wants to hire me, but the catch is that they are not getting enough other qualified applicants. They need to fill several other spots before they can get into training, and starting up this site. They have indicated that perhaps I can help them find people. They are hoping for people with 4 years of professional audit experience, but will consider people with just 2 years.

Help! I really want this job but need 3 or 4 others before I can start!

Chicago Rickshaw is now hiring independent contractors for the 2010 season. We are looking for responsible bike lovers that want to have some good clean fun this summer. Training sessions will start this week and next week. All you need to start is a valid state ID and $50 for a deposit which will be returned when you are done working for us. The deposit covers the cost of the kit we provide which includes everything you need to fix a flat and keys to the garage. Once you are trained and have a kit you will be able to take the pedicab out at any time. Daily and weekly leases are available. For more info shoot me an email and we can set up a time for training. elaine@chicago-rickshaw.com

Hey guys! Wondering if any of you would be willing to help out with the Chainlink Street Team? We'd love help delivering flyers and posters to local shops. If you have a little time to help out, I'd really appreciate it! Just drop me a note: leah@thechainlink.org, subject: Street Team.
