@ Jack - Thank you so much! And yes, I'll be ready for the crowdedness of it all...
I'm definitely hoping to kick some butt, definitely will enjoy myself, and going to shoot for my sub 3 hour race!! = )

@ Tom - Good luck on Sunday!! Kick some butt as well. I've got the wetsuit and have done many lake swims with it... I don't think I know the meaning of 'taper' though... lol ;)

Hi Julie. Have you thought about volunteering for a Kids Tri? They are tons of fun and the kids are awesome!

Here is some info on the Kids Tri this weekend. It is through Chicago Tri Club but I'm positive they will accept all the volunteers they can find.

I am doing Chicago international distance it is my second year. Yes highly suggest wetsuit, this is 'easy' week, but hate the waiting. Good Luck to all those who have signed up.

Jason, have a great time! I did the race in 08 and had a ball. Remember that it will be crowded, so the experience is half the fun and expect a few in your way on the course.

Kick some butt and enjoy!

Hey Julie - I'm doing the Chicago Tri through Team to end AIDS (through the AIDS Foundation of Chicago) and I checked, but they're set for volunteers.

Speaking of this weekend's Chicago Tri... Is anyone else doing it? I can't wait!! My first international/olympic length!

The easiest place to start would be the CTC, Chicago Tri Club. They have volunteers for almost all races in the Chicago area, including this weekend's Kid's Tri (Sat) and the Chicago Tri (Sun). Or just email the race director for the race you want to volunteer at.

I did my first triathlon (a sprint) in August.
