reminder : for anyone who can't get by the summer with just one week-lone bike tour; I am doing this ride also June 19-26.
I have a ride to the start (west of Madison WI) and hoepfully
back to chicago june 26th.
A friend of mine is the volunteer who sits at the first town (Sioux City) and re-sells registrations that have been turned in. But you can't go on a charter unless you're registered. So do try to get it ahead of time.
Local transport to Sioux City is most likely filled. Do some research on the Ragbrai.com site where you'll find charter info and there is a forum section for those looking to sell and purchase rider registration wristbands.
Hello fellow cyclists . . . .
I have heard abotu RAGBRAI when I was back in NYC but never knew all the details. My GF and I would LOVE to be able to join but it seems that the deadlines have passed. Is there any other way to get on this ride at this point? Is anybody giving up their spots?
Marty
I've opened my invitation for tomorrow's backyard barbecue to all on the Chainlink, but especially RAGBRAI'ers so we can talk about Ragbrai. Check it out on thechainlink calendar. 2PM-7PM at 1113 W Webster. I just put up a new photo of my new 4 bike rack.
This years ride keeps getting better and better, on paper. Last time I was through Clear Lake in 1999 it was damn fun. Same with Manchester. Evening entertainment has always been a bit lacking but this year we have The Spin Doctors in Clear Lake and Iowa natives, The Nadas in Manchester.
On another trivial note, there's a footwear thread in the Ragbrai forums. I've ridden Shimano 2-strap sandals exclusively since 1998 and I can't think of ever riding Ragbrai with shoes again, that includes the century days.
Also - (shameless plug for the chainlink) Julie could use the
help at the chainlink table greeting fellow cyclists and
talking up the CL. C'mon down and hang out with your peeps !
maybe we'll even get some beer and hit the beach afterwards...
