I'm really bummed that i can't make this years ride. I started a new job and could not get the time off. I wish all of you the best, its a great ride.
Random thoughts:
No freebies on this trip so take more cash. Never pass up a chance to fill up your water bottles.
For you campers a small bowl to wash your gear and Woolite is a good idea. A small collapsible chair, six pack coolers and beer can coolers are signs of a RAGBRAI veteran.
ATT subscribers may have a hard time getting a signal anywhere in Iowa. You can use the internet truck to email everyone that your still alive.
I'm looking to sale my 3 bands for Sunday, Monday and Friday. If someone want stay the entire week they can purchase daily bands when they get to the RAGBRAI.
If interested, contact me at waymondhsmith@hotmail.com.
I know its kind of late, but my schedule opened up and I was wondering if anyone is trying to sell a RAGBRAI wristband and has room for one more person + bike? I have done 5 RAGBRAIs in the past and amd good company and in good biking condition. Let me know. Thanks Marla
2 weeks from right now, 9:37 AM CDT, we'll be loading up the bus to make the trip to Sioux City.
Ragbrai Saturday is always great; meet up with old teammate friends from around the country and make new teammate friends whilst enjoying cocktails in the bus. I-80 is usually flush with bicycle carrying vehicles, making their yearly pilgrimage to that highest of holy bike riding places; the start of Ragbrai.
It has the be the only day during the year on I-80 when people are actually happy to be on that road, waving and honking in greetings with bus teams mooning other bus teams.
If anyone hasn't noticed by now, I am a RAGBRAI junkie.
I will be making a run to Dubuque on Friday, where I will be dumping my car for the week and joining my team. I'm flying solo, and have room for one more person.
Once we get to Dubuque, whoever joins me would be on their own.
Email me at the following address if you're interested in the ride (and potentially a ride back to Chicago the following Saturday):
Please check out my event on July 4th - backyard barbecue in honor of my new bike rack. and also my new wooden windmill.
You're all invited. If you get a message saying the event is full, ignore it and just Rsvp to kangarookathy@yahoo.com
