When is the Good Beer Guide coming out?  We print a bunch and carry them all week.  Seems kinda tardy!  We're also waiting on Team Brewhaha's seminal Ragbrai Bar Guide.

I heard from an individual host in Altoona after I had already found housing on my own.  So I told her to offer the housing to somebody else.  It was a place for just one woman in a basement with two others.  Would not be appropriate for a larger group or for a man.

Altoona is the only town I have yet to hear from. I have even emailed several times to follow up since they have yet to cash the check I mailed on May 1st! (glad to know I'm not the only one...)

Leaving for Des Moines a week from today.  I drove to and from Omaha several weekends ago.  Expect construction backups on I-80 in Iowa if you are leaving on Saturday.  I drove I-88 through Illinois so I can't comment on I-80 construction in this state.  I-88 was wide open and problem free so I think I'll drive it to the Quad Cities again.
