I'm looking at riding RAGBRAI for the first time this year.  Does anyone know of transport services from Chicago (or eastern Iowa) to the starting point?

174 days, 1 hour, 48 minutes, and 12 seconds....  But who's counting????

Northern route, again. Easy and butt-numbing boring in places. Fond memories of the pool in Marcus if the ride passes through again on its way to Cherokee.

177 days.

Route announcement is Saturday.  You can have the list of the start/overnight/end towns texted to your phone via the DM Register if you can't watch the live feed of the announcement party.  Or, you can have overly hyped teammates hanging on every word sending out texts as the results are named.

It's the 40th year and I started riding on the 25th year.  I'm hoping for a very southern route as the century loop day around Rathbun Lake is a good one.  I'm hoping for endless hills and typical Iowa heat, yeah!

I was putting photos from last year's Ragbrai in my album and found I had taken photos of two different pink trucks with pig ears.

Was there another company selling pork chops besides Mr. Pork Chop?

There will be a Ragbrai training ride this coming Monday night (Jan 9, 2012). It is called FBC Full Moon Fiasco!

197 days.  As it's a new year and the perfect time (and weather) to pile on base miles, let me repost one of my favorite training articles as a reminder that there are more ways to train than just hours on the saddle.
