I had a great Ragbrai with Team Purple Jam! Got in 529.5 miles, meet many new friends, and had fun at host homes. My new favorite snack is pickles and olives.

I have completed 14 RAGBRAIS and this was the best one ever.  There was only one really bad hill.  There was no rain while riding.  I met lots of fun people.  Suzy collected $437.25 in donations to Chicago Canine Rescue when people took her photo.  I decided it wasn't so bad to take a ride on a team bus or the Sag wagon if it was getting late and I couldn't finish feeling well.  I still rode 342 miles in the heat and that's more than most of our friends can boast!  and I created about 200 excellent photos.

I talked to a guy who has completed 12 previous RAGBRAIs and he said the first 4 days were the toughest he'd ever seen.  It was my first so i felt better that I had rode those days.  Bad luck with the weather for sure.  Sucked the fun right out of biking.

I can not imagine a more hellish day on a bike than Tuesday.  So glad last week is over.  The only days I enjoyed where Sunday and Friday. Mon-Thu where just too difficult and on Saturday my body was so fatigued, sleep deprived, covered in heat rash and joints achy to pedal in more than my granny gear.

Zac....  While it is too late to transfer a wristband, I haven't completely given up ALL hope on going for the last few days....  Just MOST hope....  I MIGHT be in contact with you in a few days about it if you still have it....  But if someone else can commit before I do, go ahead and sell it....  Feel better soon!!!!

Hi All,

I just got really sick and can't go. I am selling my wristband if someone wants it.

I am looking for one or two spots from Chicago to the starting town on Saturday.  We have a ride back home at the end, but so far no luck getting there.  We don't necessarily need to be in the same car and will both happily pay our share for gas.  Please let me know if you have space.

We have 1 spot in our car from Chicago to Clinton for the WAY OUT ONLY on Friday 7/20, we do not have space on the way back from Clinton to Chicago.

Zac, most people take the shuttle from the end town to the start town, since driving back across Iowa will cost nearly as much in gas and going back to get the car take about 15 hours round trip.  There's several charters that range in price from $100-$150
