Excellent, Christopher, I'll look for you. I usually see lots of folks and don't mind sharing Team Bad Monkey cocktails.

Unless you're Team Bad Boy.

Yeah. Team Skunk. Been with them since my first ragbrai getting pulled in a trailer by my dad's bike some 30 or so years ago.

What team are you on, Christopher? Is it Skunk? You mentioned a while ago and I have forgotten.

Giving Muscatine Melons a run for their money?

Me, I love beer. Copious amounts of Bud Light (or whoever the beer sponsor is) isn't my scene, but when in Rome... However, I'm proud to take full advantage of any local flavor that may be available: Millstream, Olds Main, Sutliff Cider. I believe there are a handful of brewpubs within a stone's throw from the route this year that I hope are involving themselves to some degree in the festivities.

Looks like it's going to be a fun week. And it's going to start tonight with a long night of laundry and packing and testing out the camping gear (as if there's any time to remedy and issues we uncover).

If you see a red Cannondale tandem out there with a pasty white captain and a Filipino stoker cracking the whip, say hello.

The things I learn in this forum. I grew up in Omaha, NE. Yet, I had never ever, until now, heard of Norfolk melons. Huh.

Mr. Pork Chop is rumored to be coming out of retirement for one day this year. It's somewhere in the DMR Ragbrai forums. I'm a huge fan of Norfolk, NE watermelon, nothing like it anywhere. Something about the sandy soil around there grows the best watermelon you've ever had, Joe. Ragbrai is early for Norfolk melon, sadly.

While I drink my share of beer, vodka and root beer while on Ragbrai (not to mention Gatorade and water), I'm truly in it for the Pork Chop guy and watermelon.

Death to all watermelon haters! Estrangement and general bewilderment to all Pork Chop guy haters!

:-)
