I went ahead and reserved site 381 at Ottawa Lake campground in Kettle Moraine. There are 2 other reservable spots at Ottawa Lake. Other than that, only spots at the horse camp. I just reserved for Saturday night as I wouldn't be able to get down there on Friday. I'm not sure how big the space is, but my guess would be 2 or 3 tents.

I'm going to ride up to kettle from Palatine Metra station on Wednesday morning for an overnight and ride home Thursday afternoon. I know this is essentially zero notice but wanted a night in the woods to relax. Anyone is welcome to join me, any Q's just ask.

Talk to Iggy.  There was a trip earlier this year up to Kettle Moraine, he might still have the routing for it.

I'm up for anything really.  I have Friday off, but would be more than willing to do a Sat-Sunday adventure.  Perhaps that might be better so more people could participate.  Does anyone have a good route from Harvard to the S. Kettles?

Hey, I would be up for this as well.... But, I'll have to take time off, so the sooner details are nailed down, the better.

question though, I wouldn't be able to leave until Friday evening, so I'd essentially be riding in the dark...were you planning on leaving early in the day Friday?

Yeah, they do. There are still 6 sites available in the Ottawa Lake section.

Thinking of taking the metra up to Harvard (as many people on here have) and then riding up.  Does the park still accept reservations in October?

I'd be up for a trip too.  I'm trying to get a trip to the porcupine mtns. around that time but if it falls through I'm good with Kettle Moraine.

I'd be up for such a trip.
