Bummer, Ash. If you are still looking to go camping, i would recommend taking the metra to Harvard and riding north to Kettle Moraine. It's about the same distance as Zion but a much more pleasant ride. I can send you a route if you're interested.

Hey Ash, you might want to call up to IL beach state park. It has been closed since the big storms of last year and the IDNR closures site says it won't be open again until April 1st.

Thats ok, Im certain there will be many trips this summer! We are leaving from the trail opening off of lawrence around 9am saturday if anyone else wants to make the trek. Ill check back here that morning just in case... :D
