Is anybody planning a camping trip to Kettle Moraine South, Chain O' Lakes, or Bong?  Let me know so I can go.  I've finally gotten my equipment issues pretty well sorted out.

I wasnt' able to make the last trip, but I would love to see one in the future. I just moved to Mokena, so something south would work great. :)
I'd be interested in other camping trips especially since I couldn't make the last one.
This seems to be the norm for the group. There is one trip at the start of the summer and that is it for the year. Kinda sad IMHO.
I plan to go to Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit the weekend of July 9-10 on my own.  Has anybody in this group camped there before?  I don't know if there have been any water problems there.  Just in case, I just bought a Brita filter bottle.  Has anybody had any experience with this bottle?  Is it effective by itself in giving you decent tasting water?

Are any new camping trips being planned for 2012 at Illinois Beach, Kettle Moraine South, Chain O' Lakes, or Bong?  I'd like to see if Milwaukee and Chicago cyclists can get together in the great outdoors somewhere convenient to both our cities and swap note4sw on what we're doing.

I'd love to hit the southern kettle via the fox river trail or the metro to Harvard route.

As for myself, since I have to come from Milwaukee, I take the Hank Aaron Trail to the New Berlin Trail to the Glacial Drumlin Trail to Hwy. 67.  That's the route I took when I went to Kettle Moraine-South last July.  I camped near Ottawa Lake in the north end of the forest.

Are there sufficient trees for hanging a hammock? Years ago I mountain biked there but never camped.

In what part of the forest did you go?  I myself pitched near Ottawa Lake in the north part of the forest in Waukesha County.
