June Camping Proposal (FIRST DAY OF SUMMER)

The first day of summer is June 21, a Monday.  How do y'all feel about a trip for that weekend and include Monday (for a three day trip).  We leave in spring, we come back in SUMMER!! 

 

Im thinking to starved rock.

 

i would call it STARVING FOR SUMMER

 

oh, and Wild Bill Hickock's birthplace monument is nearby.  i wanna check it out.

That might work for me! Would we take the Metra to Joliet and go from there or bike the whole way?

it is a tad over 100 miles by car, probably more by bike. I am not sure even I want to do that kind of distance loaded down with gear to turn around and go home the next day

any one wants to get ready for this 100 mile trip can join me in missouri for a hilly 140 mi 2 weeks prior

michael, we wouldnt turn right back...a whole day of hangin out. and maybe, if some are ambitious, go a day early make it a four-dayer.

im open to metra, we could even have a group that slingshots and one that rides. and maybe someone that wants to drive this one for some of the heavier gear...whatev. i personally want to try to ride the whole way, but we'll see.

I'm in. I have been wanting to try a ride down there for a while now. If I remember correctly, that's a busy time for starved rock, so a rez might be in call for... if there are any left. Any good private sites around?
