Yes! I seek a northside mass! The Senn High School campus in Edgewater has some pocket parks around it that could serve as good gathering spots. One is a garden+field at corner of Thorndale/Greenview. Half a block west of this on Thorndale is a shade park with water fountain and paved pathways. This shade park opens across an alley to to another open field along Elmdale. Another quarter block west of this Thorndale shade park is the Lincoln statue and surrounding benches and grass at Thorndale/Clark.

elston is for dumb/hardcore-ers i guess :) that what makes it fun, you have to be fancy at motor dodging. you have your "off road" city adventures, on road mis-haps, and evrything in between! and, and, and, one of the best things about it..........elston, fulerton, and damen is one of the worst intersections in the country!! apparently it averages 1 car on car "accident" a day!! ARG!! WOO!! that's the kind of danger in city riding i love! love it, need it, can't get enough of it!!! i ride from irving and pulaski to downtown for work year round 5x a week. but seriously, ride safe all!

Elston? Ugh, no. It's the worst excuse for a bike lane IMHO. You have to actively compete w/cars racing in it for most of it's length. Milwaukee or Lincoln serve me much better when I want a diagonal.

does anyone else ride the Elston bike path?

Ha! Yeah after NSC he rode directly to the bike shop. Although its not COMPLETLY fixed, he is able to get further. Something with the rear hub.....man I'd love to get him a new bike!

I recognize Kelly's dad. I assume his bike rode a bit better than at the North Shore Century!

Ride was great. We were worried about the wind, but the ancient and helpful trees shaded us from its buffeting blows.

Go check out Kelly's page for action shots, portraits of vibrant fall colors and wildlife paparazzi snaps (the deer were nonplussed to receive all of the attention).
