Info from the 2008 Halloween Ride, October

This is a long shot, since the ride was some time ago. I’m looking for some information trying to determine the cause of an accident – medical or mechanical. I’m not trying to blame anybody.

October 31st. Halloween 2008. Probably around 8 PM, on Roscoe, just a block or two east of Western Avenue. Basically, I fell and hit my head, got a head fracture and brain concussion. I don’t have any memory of the first week, and only a vague memory of the week after that when I was in Illinois Masonic Hospital the whole time.

(Note to Kathy: Yes, I now wear a helmet regularly. I’ve learned my lesson.)

Brian took my bike for me, and one of the guys I go to school with came across me but only after my crash. I appreciate all the help – even probably a lot that I don’t remember.

I had a similar occurrence but not as serious about a week ago. I don’t know if it’s a result of the first occurrence, or if both occurrences are from the same problem. I’ve had some other symptoms as well following the Halloween accident.
