I spoke briefly to Elizabeth-- it would be no problem to get a bike up by next Wednesday if the family's willing; some chance of altering the route depending on the exact location.

Bill Watson will be leading a Ride of Silence in Oak Park. The ride starts at the Oak park Cycling Club starting point at Lake and Oak Park Ave on 5/18 at 7:15pm.

 

If you can't make the ride in Chicago.  There are rides in Oak Park, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Joiliet, Downers Grove, Urbana, and Peoria.  There are rides in 300 other cities world wide.

It's official - the Office of the Governor of Illinois has issued a Proclamation declaring May 18, 2011, Ride of Silence Day in Illinois!

Chicago ROS webpage is now updated with Ride info for all "known" Chicago area ROS locations this year. 

If you know of another community hosting an ROS this year, please contact Elizabeth at rideofsilence.chicago[at]gmail[dot]com to let her know about it and promote it with all the other area (northern IL) rides.

Chicago ROS will be at REI in Lincoln Park today (Saturday, April 16) from 10am-2pm to raise awareness and distribute info about this year's event - May 18, 2011 @ 7pm

Helmet skins have been said to increase one's chances of a rotational head (or neck) injury for many years. I doubt there's any real research but the theory seems sound to me.

Who - if anyone - would be interested in a helmet skin cover that promotes the Ride of Silence?
