Randonneuring Defined

Randonneuring: Randonneuring is long-distance unsupported endurance cycling. This style of riding is non-competitive in nature, and self-sufficiency is paramount. When riders participate in randonneuring events, they are part of a long tradition that goes back to the beginning of the sport of cycling in France and Italy. Friendly camaraderie, not competition, is the hallmark of randonneuring.

Are there any other bike-friendly hotels in Delavan?  The Super 8 is booked Saturday night and I don't trust myself to stay awake driving home afterwards.

I'll be doing the 300K, too.  What the heck am I thinking?  The first time was hard enough.  #neverendingquestforimprovement

I'm hoping to make it for the 300k on Saturday. Who else?

Eric, I just sent my application for the FVP in for August 3rd as well. It looks like I'm out for the GLR on July 27th due to schedule conflict.

Oh what a dork I am.. I always thought these references to FVP were the Fox Valley Path (Trail), that long paved path from Oswego to Crystal Lake or McHenry.

Bruce, FVP is the Fox Valley Permanent - a 212km ride from Naperville, IL.

FYI - I'll be out of town and returning on July 30th, so there will not be enough time to send out cards in the mail. Send in apps now.

So anyone planning to ride would need to pickup the materials from my house on the day of the ride (I'll be out of town on that day as well).

I could be up for the FVP on the 3rd.
