Took a chance and went out for it. Beautiful day, a bit windy. Note: Iowa is not flat. Hillier than the Delavan/Verona 200 with lots of rollers, a couple of long drags... nice roads for the most part, and mostly respectful drivers -notable exception: a homicidal semi driver who passed me at 70+ with about 18" to spare - that got the adrenaline pumping!
Weather miracle: the wind shifted in the afternoon to give a quartering tailwind both ways... a benefit not enjoyed by the faster guys who were 2-3 hours up the road from me by the midpoint. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
About 15 riders showed up and i believe most finished in great time, myself being Lanterne Rouge by a pretty long margin, but about 2h50m faster than last year's April brevet.
