So I did this ride yesterday, solo. Fortunately the weather was better than the forecast in some respects (sun, temps), but spot on otherwise (NE wind).
I plan to do this ride again in each of the next three months, if there is some decent weather forecast for a weekend - decent meaning clear conditions, reasonable wind, and preferably sunny skies.
Riding solo is getting a bit old, and the route is not getting any easier. If anyone would like to join me on these rides, please let me know.
Thanks,
Eric

Rest easy George, your suggestion is exactly the detour I had in mind.
The Google maps on the FVP website are all messed up now, thanks to Google dropping support for their "legacy" version. I now have to redo all those maps to use My Maps instead, but that takes time and there are other technical issues associated with using My Maps to generate cuesheets etc.
I will get the FVP website fixed in the near future.
In the meantime, please give me advance notice as to when anyone plans to ride the FVP.
Thanks,
Eric
All,
I have updated the website with new information for the route segments. This replaces the old segments made with the now defunct Google"Classic" Maps.
The first segment (1A and 1B) covers the detour around the bridge under construction on Warrenville Rd. This detour is different from the initial detour and more direct.
I have also added an updated cue sheet in the "Paperwork" section.
