For my own planning purposes, I've created a list of brevets within a 6-7 hour drive of Chicago (I once made to Apple Valley, MN in just over 6 hours).

This may be useful to you if you have conflicts with the GLR schedule, or you would like to try riding a brevet in other locations. Or maybe you're looking for a 1000K or 1200K ride this year. They are on the list. All this stuff is on the RUSA site but in the past I have found it useful to have a localized calendar.
