Hello Fellow Randonneurs and Randonneuses,
Brevet season is coming up rapidly. If you are interested in this challenging activity then it's time to start thinking about what rides you want to attempt in 2016.
Here in Chicagoland we have access to four locations within a 4-hour drive offering full series:
I've done rides in all locations except Indiana. The QC rides are probably the hilliest, although GLR has a challenging 300K and also a very tough 400K / 600K (offered only once before in 2010). The 400K/600K rides in Richland Center are new this year.
If you want to explore a bit further, there are also full series in Ames IA, Detroit MI, and Minneapolis MN.
Hope to see you out there on some rides in 2016.

This is really great. Thanks for sharing. Are you planning on adding any of these as events in The Chainlink?
In the list above, there are links to the websites for all those groups.
I plan to add Chainlink events for GLR rides.
The flèche season is also upon us, but the only flèche offered locally is sponsored by the Minnesota Randonneurs. We have a team headed up to MN on May.20th from Wisconsin Dells...third flèche for team Badgers Ripped My Flèche ...

Detroit Randonneurs are also holding a Fleche on 30 April, registration cutoff is 3 April. Info here.
That is actually the OH fleche, posted on the Detroit Randonneurs site.
Hey All,
Just a heads-up concerning a change in start times for GLR (Great Lakes Randonneurs) brevets in 2016.
The opening day 200K on Apr.23 will be at 7:00 AM.
All remaining rides on the calendar will start at 6:00 AM.
You will need to plan accordingly.
Regards,
Eric
