We just did an article on a few Door County rides and I thought this might be of interest to CBES...

After the century/ organized long ride, they have a beer festival:

There will be live music, and if you're thirsty, you can use your complimentary drink ticket, good for one beer from the acclaimed Door County Brewing Company, or a soda. And if you're still thirsty after that, you can enjoy the Door County Beer Festival, which will be kicking off about the time you're rolling in (tickets sold separately).

New brewery and tap room opening in Oak Park March 11:

Craft beer is booming near Bridgman, MI.

Transient just opened across the street from Tapestry.  Chicago's Haymarket will be opening its second location a few blocks away in late summer.  Greenbush is a short distance south of Bridgman and Cultivate brewery/farm is a short distance east.  Round Barn also is in the vicinity.

Transient opened for the first time on Sunday with no prior notice.  I coincidentally was in the area eating dinner at Tapestry.

Haymarket East currently is under construction on Red Arrow Hwy in the old MI State Police building.  You can see the building on Google maps between the marker for "Faith United Methodist Church" and the cemetery.  They are going to have huge indoor and outdoor spaces with wood burning pizza ovens in addition to a full brewery with a canning line.

It was a "cold" open for Transient this past weekend - the official opening is this coming weekend with the following hours:

Fri: 2-8pm EST
Sat: 12-8pm EST
Sun: 12-6pm EST

And Haymarket received TTB approval for Michigan yesterday, so it's full steam ahead for them.

Hello Serge and brewpeople.  I am leading a brew pub ride on Saturday, October 29 for Evanston Bike Club.  I suspect most of you have been to these local tap rooms but it is always good to return.  Also, sometimes it is nice to have a flight of brew pubs rather than a singular destination.  Our ride leaves at 930 am from Panera Bread in Wilmette and will cover an easy 20 miles stopping at Half Acre, Revolution and Temperance. http://www.thechainlink.org/events/brew-pub-ride.   http://ebcrides.org/net/Schedule-CE.aspx.  Come, ride, toast. Cheers.

The Holiday Cheer ride was unfortunately not held in December, but it’s never too late, right?

Rather than cry in our beer about it, a delayed OPCC HCR will take place on Sunday, March 19th. We’ll meet at 10am +/- at Counter Coffee, 7324 W. Madison, Forest Park to properly caffeinate before we ride, departing at 10:30am. The forecast is for a high near 50 degrees on the 19th.

Our first stop will be Miskatonic Brewing Company in Darien, roughly 19 miles from the start. They open at noon, which is when we should arrive. Then we’ll head to 4 miles to Skeleton Key in Woodridge, followed by a 5 mile ride to Myths and Legends in Westmont. Pedaling another 9 miles brings us to our next stop at Brixie’s in Brookfield, known and beloved by many OPCC riders, where hungry riders can grab a bite to eat. Our final stop will be Oak Park Brewing, where we should arrive by 6:30pm.

The route can be found (and downloaded to your devices) here:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19489536 Riders are more than welcome to meet us at any one of the stops. The approximate times we’ll be at each stop are listed below.

Holiday Cheer Ride on!

From the Oak Park Cycle Club (Roger Masson):  Ride takes place on April 8th. Breweries to be visited: Dovetail, Begyle, Half Acre & Empirical. Dovetail has a brewery tour at 11 AM. We are crashing my homebrew club's pub crawl. Depart from Starbucks by Lake and Oak Park at 9:45 AM (NEW TIME!) - meet earlier to caffeinate if you like.   Cue sheet at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1A23hfPWyjnKNuzNgzdij1VZjlufHHkASPfk7pQRKS5M. Overall mileage is about 20.   UPDATE from Roger:  "We will probably skip Half Acre because it is impossible to get in there on a Saturday."

Im looking for a ride Sunday, 4/23/17. Any ideas?

Not neues Bier, but a summer ride to Estabrook Beer Garden (FB) in Milwaukee could be fun.  Amtrak home late.
