Posted on behalf of an acquaintance.

Hi everyone.  I'm writing to put out word that I have an apartment available for March 1, if you know anyone looking.  Most of you probably know that I'm trying to preserve affordable rental housing in Pilsen for the kinds of people who've made up the neighborhood for the past 50 years - working families, artists and activists.

It's $860/month for a 3-bedroom apartment in a 3-unit building near 19th & Ashland.  Work is still underway, but it'll be rentable by March 1.  Free laundry in the basement, a bit of a back yard, just a block to restaurants and 2 blocks to the 18th St. stop on the Pink Line.  Green features include high-efficiency furnace, power-vent water heater, low-E windows, dual-flush toilet, zero-VOC paint, EnergyStar fridge and dishwasher, salvaged cabinets and light fixtures, 15-space bike rack in the basement.  Hardwood floors, nice vintage woodwork, high ceilings, separate living room and dining room.

Let me know if you're interested, and feel free to pass this on - thanks!  - Mark, marksrwalden@yahoo.com
