Partial solar eclipse today. Adler planetarium is supposed to be doing some outreach with several solar-filter telescopes this afternoon. The fun starts at about 4:30. The weather forecast is for cloudy weather with about a 30% chance of rain. I won't be able to get off work in time to get down there any earlier than probably 5:20 or 5:30, so I'll be missing most of it, if it will even be visible due to the weather. I'm suggesting that if anyone wants to try to make it, we can at least meet up and have introductions all around. I'll try to get down there, but if it's raining when I leave work, I know the Adler folks won't have the scopes out so it may be a wash.

We'll still have free programming inside even if it rains, if you just want an excuse to c'mon down to the planetarium!
