I've just started a new project bike that will be raffled off next summer (June 2012) to benefit Working Bikes Cooperative.  The bike will be built on a 1974 Raleigh Super Course frame (Reynolds 531 main tubes) in the style of an English pathracer.  So far I've acquired a frame and am building the wheels.  If you are a bike shop owner or employee and would like to sponsor a part of Ace of Clubs for promotional consideration get in touch with me through The Chainlink.

The wheelset:  Basically the same wheelset I built for Blackadder, except the front hub does not have the dyno.  Sun CR18 rims, 700c, black, 36 hole.  Front hub, Sturmey Archer X-FD. rear hub, Sturmey Archer X-RD3.  Sapim Race spokes, double-butted stainless steel.

Here's a picture of part of the spoke set prepped as was taught to me by my esteemed wheel building teacher, Christopher Wallace.

Wheelset is laced and tensioned, but needs to be stressed and re-trued.  I gave them a preliminary fit on the frame today.

The frame is going to Owen Lloyd soon to have certain braze ons removed and pump pegs added.  While it's there it'll get powdercoated in black.  I need to check my inventory of decals and order what I need from Cyclomondo.

I've received the Lauterwasser handlebars, the Brooks grips, Origin8 ProPulsion brake levers and Sturmey Archer three speed shifter.  Here's a picture of them assembled with the stem (Nitto Technomic 50mm)

The frame is back from the powdercoater.  I've attached the headbadge and pressed on the crown race.  I also applied some of the frame decals.  Before full fledged asssemby starts I've got to tape off the seat tube and paint the decorative stripes.  Owen Lloyd did a great job brazing on the pump pegs and removing other unnecessary cable guides.

The frame and fork are all ready for assembly.  Except for a few non-essential parts the bike is ready to be built.  If you'd like to be involved in the build get in touch with me through The Chainlink.  Those of you who have already responded, I'll see you on December 3rd in Arlington Heights.
