Your Dream "Bike Shop" of the Future- what would it be like?

What are the positives of what the dream bike shop could be like? Could it be like a co-op or would it be more like a community center? Or would it be simply a service center where retailing has been removed from the picture? Is it a place where you might spend time and talk with like minded individuals (like a physical chainlink of sorts) and then make purchases? Is it someplace with massive inventory and deep discounts?

Please say what you really wish for and specifically something that you don't don't really have access to already. And please speak in the positive.

Close to my house

Hours which made it easy to get in after work, and open at least 6 days a week

Friendly staff

Competent mechanics and functional system for checking that all work was done and done well before the customer gets the bike back.

Loaner bikes for when your bike is in for repairs/tuning, a bit like how some insurance companies give you a rental car after accidents.  It would have a rear rack.

Co-Op ownership of cargo accessories.  Only have a bike, but go on an every-other-month Costco/Target/RandomBigBox trip?  For $35 a year you have limited access to some sort of bike trailer (or even cargo bike).

The friendliness and skilled mechanics and focus on biking for transportation of Uptown Bikes, combined with the upscale feel of Turin, combined with the large selection of parts and accessories of Kozy/Performance/etc.

Combined with the free beer and included sales tax of Smart Bike Parts!

This is an awesome question! I would love to see a shop that includes the whole life-cycle of a bike. Part of the facility is like Legacy or Heritage manufacturing bikes and part of it is like Working Bikes keeping old bikes out of the waste-stream. In between, service. And since we are fantasizing and this place is walking distance from my house it might as well have a coffee shop. (Currently, the nearest cup of great coffee, unless I brew it myself, is two miles away in Bridgeport.)
