A lot of fun, but very expensive.  With $1190 worth of lights hanging from my wheel spokes, I wouldn't want to ever lock up my bike anywhere.

I agree with DIY, seems more fun! But for a less expensive commercially available kit, SpokePOV seems similar and decent.
