My guess is the shot is over the Oak Street Beach.... ya think?
Brilliant shot!
Does anyone know where that is on the Lakefront Trail? It looks like it's in the Lincoln Park area from the proximity to the drink.
Thanks Joe - for the location and the update. I wouldn't want to take my new bike too far down the path tomorrow and go smashing things up on the ice.
That stretch of the path is always a bit sketchy when the temps get around freezing. I think the banking prevents the city from plowing it and waves tend to wash up on the curve just north of ohio st. beach so the curve tends to have ice all over it.
Road in to work today, not bad at all. When I got to Fullerton, I took the high (dirt) road as the path was jacked up with arctic ice flows. Got back on where the dirt path reconnects. At the Oak Street curve I took the ped underpass to Little Lake Shore and then jumped back on the path at the Chicago ped underpass, after that I stayed on the high side until Navy Pier. The curve looked impassible so I didn't even try it. Probably added about 5 minutes to my trip, but wasn't too much of a pain.
hey stewiski. thanks for the tip on the lft hop on/off. i ride the trail from roscoe to monroe for my commute to work. i have been frustrated having to exit at oak and take the streets the rest of the way. for some reason i cannot picture the chicago ped under pass. is it just past where little lake shore ends?
One of the guys in my cycling club mapped out the detour. Here's the link. That should help you out Tyra.
