Infrastructure Updates

Wilson Ave. Bridge

During a routine inspection, CDOT discovered some issues with the Wilson Ave. Bridge over the Chicago River on the western border of the ward.

CDOT will be doing work on the structural components beginning Tuesday, January 17 and be completed by March 3, 2012.  For the first week of work (January 17 to January 23) the bridge will remain open to traffic, the only visible sign of work will be a construction trailer, however, from January 23 through March 3, the bridge will be closed to all traffic, due to the nature of the work.

During the closure, traffic will be directed south on Western to Montrose, to use Montrose as bypass and then north on Kedzie back to Wilson.

We appreciate your patience during the closure period.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bill Higgins at bill at chicago47.org.
