We wish we didn't have to celebrate...

It's the one-year anniversary of our Crash Support Hotline 312.869.HELP(4397) and our own Rebecca Resman, along with 22 volunteers, have fielded more than 100 calls since last July including nearly a call a day for the last two weeks.

They have been helping people who have been involved in a crash while walking or biking by offering advice on:

• How and what to report for crashes
• Insurance and legal resources and referrals
• Emotional support for crash survivors (our Crash Support Group)

It's obviously busier because more people know about it but in Rebecca's words "I hope we go out of business soon."

Happy birthday Crash Support Hotline!

312.869.4357(HELP)

On July 19, 2010, Active Transportation Alliance launched the Crash Support Hotline, a phone number that cyclists and pedestrians can call to get resources after a crash.

Since the hotline launched, Active Trans staff and volunteers have fielded over 100 calls from cyclists and pedestrians that needed assistance after a crash.

We look forward to a day when there are so little crashes that the hotline isn’t necessary, but until then – we’re here to help.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us spread the word by dispersing flyers and stickers throughout the city.
