Seriously, how many ya guys want?

Yes it should be legal but currently isn't. While the ACLU get's this resolved over time, whip out your phone, IPOD Video, Camcorder, helmet cam. Whatev. Sweet jesus.

Right - that's what i said. While the ACLU gets this resolved whip out your camcorder, phone or IPOD Video - then you don't have to worry about just audio. But thanks. This is gettin ridiculous.

No it's any type of audio or auditory observance. In fact the law is so broad that overhearing the police and recounting the event to another party can constitute a violation of the Illinois Eavesdropping act.

I posted the paper on the other two threads because it covers this in depth. That and later I was going to post my segment on This Is Hell today which is covering this very topic. However the show was canceled due to the ill health of Chuck so I'll be on next weekend.

Recounting to another party!? you mean like "I saw this cop do..." that's called word of mouth tell them good luck with that!
With regard to recording, unless you're alone, not likely with a CCM, who's going to stop the person recording the cops and the person recording the person recording the person recording the person who's is recording the person recording the cops.
