Enter to have your bicycle turned into a delicious cookie!!!!

Hey all you bicycle enthusiasts of Chicago and Chicago land!! Do you think that you have the most interesting, or most beautiful bicycle out there??? Well I am looking for a bicycle to turn into something that is both visually appealing and DELICIOUS!!! Yes I said Delicious!!!

I am looking to take your bicycle and design a cookie based off of it! Not only will your bicycle be featured on a cookie, but you will be helping The Chainlink!!! So If you are interested please send a picture of your bicycle and an interesting story about your bicycle to theurbanknitster@yahoo.com where we will choose the top three and put them to a vote by your peers!

The final bicycle chosen will be awarded with a special tin of the bicycle cookies!!! 

Deadline will be Tuesday October 23rd! Voting will be Wednesday the 24th! And the winner will be announced Friday the 26th!!!!

Please feel free to submit more than one photo!

Here is my bike. I bought it used from the Millennium Park Bike Shop. It was a rental. The front carrier was specially constructed to carry my little Poodle, Gabi. She rides with me most days as long as the temp is over 40F. Last year she got around 5000 miles on the Chicago Lakefront.

Bicycles with canvas 

 

Our cities are full of creative people, yet we are locked behind brick and steel. I decorate my steel bicycle with intent to spark communication and attract like-minded people. The observation that we are both on a bicycle often is enough to start a conversation. I wish to take the conversation further, “Hey! I am also a vegetarian,” and “Hey! We both love Mondrian’s appreciation for city grid work.” Is enough of a connection to be compelled to ride further together, bringing light to my vision of companionship, offering a reason to leave our dark confinements to shed light on our streets.
 

Events where the public gathers on behalf of shared ideas offers opportunity for communities to strengthen their identity with bicycle decoration. By encouraging dialogue around creation we may develop our values and introduce mobile platforms relaying call-to-actions. Fleets of themed bicycles can leave these events to share what matters to spark conversation. Our community is full of talent, beauty and kindness yearning for personal interaction.

 
Spoke-N-Art is how we refer to treating the bicycle as a canvas's frame. We are now developing more patterns and experimenting with materials to encourage widespread bicycle decoration. We have come far way in the past year and anticipate much for the spring.
