Want Great Brake Pads? Then Get Kool Stop Salmon Pads...

This is more of a review than anything else. I never thought about veering away from good old Dura Ace pads that have been so nice to me. When I was cleaning, my bike earlier in the week I noticed that I needed new brake pads, so sure enough I went to closest place I could think of to get some Dura Ace pads. Well chance would have it that the usual Dura Ace pads that I have grown to love were quite expensive at this particular store and right next to it there were 2 sets of Kool Stop Salmon pads. I said hell with it and decided to give it a try.

After installing them and adjusting my brakes for proper toe-in and reach, I went for a ride. I can't describe the difference, it is like night and day, compared to Dura Ace pads. These things modulate a ton better than the Shimano pads, they are made of a softer compound meaning they will wear faster compared to the Shimano ones but I rather have good brakes that I need to replace twice as often. They are not that expensive either, I won't be going back to Shimano anytime soon...
