Hello:
I'm reaching out to the chainlink community to seek out volunteers for the December 4th cyclocoss race at Montrose Harbor. For those of you who are familiar with cyclocross racing, you know it's fun, it's intense and it's wacky. So please help make it fun by helping to keep it safe. I'm a member of Turin Bicycling Society. Turin is sponsoring the race and we're still well short of what we need.
More detailed information on the race is available by going to the Chicago CrossCup site.
If you're willing, the following volunteer positions are open:
1. set up crew Saturday starting at 2 p.m. to how ever long you can stay.
2. On Sunday race day, set-up starting at 6:00 a.m. but I know this is too early for many of you.
3. On Sunday race day, course marshal for the a.m. shift (8:30 to 12:45) or p.m. shift (12 to 4:30 p.m.)
4. Registration a.m. shift 7:30 to 11:30 or p.m. shift 11:15 to 3:15.
Thanks for considering
George

Great. I'll put you in as course marshal. Or, if you bring your bike, I might use you as floater (i.e. patrol the course, take over for course marshals taking breaks, etc.) If you're racing, your registration fee is waived.

I might be able to help on one of the P.M. shifts on Sunday. I only live a few blocks away.
I will have my bike but not racing (yet). I am interested in trying Cross next year and want to see a race.
I'll put you down for p.m. course marshal. Please let me know by Friday if you're not able to make it. By the way, I know a couple of bike clubs who hold cyclocross training usually starting early fall. Johnny Sprockets sponsors a cyclocross racing crew. Also the Pony Shop at Evanston. There's some instructional videos on things like mounts and dismount techniques. We're doing set-up on Sat starting at 2 p.m. If you ride there maybe about 3 or 3:30, you can try out the course. A good place to find us is on Simonds Drive north of Montrose.

I can do 11:15 -3:15 reg.
OK. Got it. See you then. Chris Mailing will be providing instructions. I'll make sure you get them. If it goes like last year, everything should flow smoothly. The cross cup people have gotten registration down to a science.

By the way, my e-mail address is grv111@comcast.net
If you still need volunteers I am available. I have helped set up races before and know how important they can be.
Shoot me an email- unicyclemike (at) gmail I can take whatever shift you need.
